University Of Essex Newcomer Prize Draw

Our very first giveaway is happening at the University of Essex!

For every 100 LifeLog points you earn between 6th February 2017 and the 15th March 2017 will be converted into 1 prize draw entry. The more points you earn the more chance you have of winning,

The draw will be made on or after the 16th March 2017. One LifeLog user will be given one brand new PlayStation 4

The winner has to be a current University of Essex student. 

All of the winners achievements will be verified by the LifeLog team. Any approved achievements we deem to be falsified, fake, or in breach of LifeLog's terms of service may cause the winner to forfeit their prize. In this case the draw will be repeated and another winner will be chosen 

Winner will be announced on the LifeLog Facebook and Twitter pages. They will also be contacted by the email they have supplied to their LifeLog account.

If you win and you accept the prize you agree that we can publicise your win.

Any decision about this draw made my LifeLog Social Media Ltd is final.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") governs how users act and interact when using LifeLog services and brands. By using or accessing LifeLog services, you agree to these terms. These terms will be updated to reflect the changing environment in which LifeLog operates. LifeLog services are operated by LifeLog Social Media Ltd (“We”, “Us”, “Our”). We may ask you to review and accept changes to the terms that apply to your interaction with a specific application (app) or service.

1. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us and we will do everything in our power to keep it safe. We are also bound by data protection laws in the UK to look after your data adequately. Your data will be stored on servers that are protected physically and digitally.
Your privacy and your data will always be looked after and is governed by LifeLog’s Moral Code of Conduct. 

2. Sharing Content and Information

You own all of the content and information you post on LifeLog, and you can control how it is shared through your settings. also:

2.1    For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like photos and videos (IP content), you specifically give us the following permission: you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, copy, modify, distribute, publish, and process, information and content that you provide through our service, without any further consent, notice and/or compensation to you or others. This is applicable to all forms of current interfacing technology (including but not limited to; mobile or desktop applications and augmented reality (AR)) and future available technology (including but not limited to; holographic technologies and implants).
2.1    When you delete IP content, it is archived until the archive is emptied and all content has been approved by us for permanent deletion. You understand that removed content may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time. When you have deleted content it will not be available to others.
2.3    When you publish content or information, it means that you are allowing everyone, including people without a LifeLog account in some instances, to access and use that information, and to associate it with you (For example your name and profile picture).
2.4    We appreciate feedback or suggestions about LifeLog, but you understand that we may use your feedback or suggestions without any obligation to compensate you for them.

3. Welfare & Safety

We do our best to keep LifeLog safe, but we cannot guarantee it. Helping to keep LifeLog safe includes the following commitments by you:
3.1    You will not post spam on LifeLog.
3.2    You will not engage in any marketing on LifeLog without an agreement from us first. 
3.3    You will not collect users' content or information, or otherwise access LifeLog, using automated means (such as harvesting bots, robots, spiders, or scrapers) without our prior permission.
3.4    You will not upload viruses or other malicious code.
3.5    You will not bully or harass any user.
3.6    You will not intimidate, extort or blackmail any user.
3.7    You will not post content that is considered hate speech, threatening, or incites violence.
3.8    You will not post content that is pornographic or contains graphic violence.
3.9    You will not use LifeLog to do anything unlawful.
3.10    You will not do anything that could disable, overburden, or impair LifeLog, such as a denial of service attack or interference with LifeLog functionality.
3.11    You will not facilitate or encourage any violations of these terms.

4.    Achievements

LifeLog is based on user ‘Achievements’ and awards points based on successful completion of these Achievements. There are a number of guidelines that you agree to follow with regards to Achievements. 
4.1    You will not provide any false or fake evidence when submitting an Achievement.
4.2    You will not approve user’s Achievements where you know the evidence to be false, faked or is the intellectual property of somebody else.
4.3    You will not maliciously deny other users Achievements.
4.4    Any achievement you attempt, you attempt at your own risk. In addition we encourage you to take all the necessary safety precautions. 
4.5    If the safety precautions are not adequately taken we may remove any awarded Achievement. 
4.6    LifeLog is not responsible for any physical or mental injury you may obtain through attempting to complete Achievements.
4.7    If you sustain any form of injury at a 3rd party business or event, that 3rd party is liable and not LifeLog.
4.8    Achievements are controlled by LifeLog and the decisions about the Achievements are final. This includes the number of ‘Approvals’ needed, the points awarded and what Achievements are awarded for.
4.9    If you suggest an Achievement as we decide to use it, we have no obligation to compensate you for your suggestion. 
4.10    We may decide to remove any awarded Achievement if we believe the evidence is not sufficient to qualify you for that Achievement. 
4.11    We may ask you to prove that you have completed an Achievement using additional evidence at any time. Failure to provide this additional information may result in the Achievement being Denied and may exclude you from prizes or awards. (For example if you claim to speak 3 languages, we may ask you to have a brief conversation with us in all 3 languages)

5. House Members & Purchases

LifeLog runs a premium service where users have the ability to join a House for a fee. Any user that pays for this service is known as an ‘House Member’ 
5.1    You will be classified as a House Member if you have purchased the relevant upgrade in the app.  
5.2    Once House Member status has been purchased it cannot be refunded.
5.3    All information must be correct to claim any prizes or awards given by LifeLog.
5.4     All premium features (including banners) are non-refundable

6. Registration and Account Security

The following are commitments you make with regards to your personal information and account security:
6.1    You will not provide any false personal information on LifeLog, or create an account for anyone other than yourself without permission.
6.2    You will not create more than one personal account.
6.3    If we disable your account, you will not create another one without our permission.
6.4    You will not use LifeLog if you are under 18 years of age.
6.5    You will keep your contact information accurate and up-to-date.
6.6    You will not share your password let anyone else access your account, or do anything else that might jeopardise the security of your account.
6.7    You will not transfer your account to anyone without first getting our written permission.
6.8    If you select a username or similar identifier for your account, we reserve the right to remove or reclaim it if we believe it is appropriate (such as when a trademark owner complains about a username that does not closely relate to a user's actual name).

7. Protecting People's Rights

7.1    You will not post content or take any action on LifeLog that infringes or violates someone else's rights or otherwise violates the law.
7.2    We can remove any content or information you post on LifeLog if we believe that it violates these terms.
7.3    If you repeatedly infringe other people's intellectual property rights, we will disable your account, or remove you as an House Member when appropriate. We may also choose to make you ineligible for awards or prizes.
7.4    You will not use our copyrights, logos or trademarks or any confusingly similar marks, except as expressly permitted with our prior written permission.
7.5    You will not post anyone's (including your own) identification documents or sensitive financial information on LifeLog.

8. Mobile Devices

8.1    We currently provide our mobile services for free (excluding premium features), but please be aware that your carrier's normal rates and fees, such as data charges, will still apply.

9. Commercial Content on LifeLog

In-line with our goals we aim not to have advertising on LifeLog for as long as financially possible. However we may offer 3rd party businesses and enterprises the ability to create and sponsor Achievements for you to complete if you so wish. As a result you agree to the following:
9.1    You understand that we may not always identify paid or sponsored services and communications as such.
9.2    You understand that we may suggest Achievements to you based on your personal information and previously achieved Achievements.  However as always it is your choice as to whether you take up and complete these Achievements. 

10. Our Software

10.1    You will not modify, create derivative works of, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from us, unless you are expressly permitted to do so and we give you express written permission.
10.2.    If you download or use our software, such as a stand-alone software product or an app, you agree that from time to time, the software may download and install updates and additional features from us in order to improve and further develop the software.

11.    Amendments

11.1.    We’ll not necessarily notify you when we make changes to these terms and you agrees to review any changes from time to time to make sure you want to continue to use LifeLog services.
11.2    If you continue to use LifeLog services, the continued use constitutes your acceptance of our amended terms.

12.    Termination

12.1    If you violate the letter or spirit of these terms, or otherwise create risk or possible legal exposure for us, we can stop providing all or part of LifeLog to you. We will notify you by email or at the next time you attempt to access your account. You may also delete your account or disable your application at any time. In all such cases, these terms shall remain applicable to you.

13.    Disputes

13.1    You will resolve any claim, cause of action or dispute in the United Kingdom. This terms of service will be governed by UK Law.
13.2    You agree that LifeLog has no obligation to settle any action brought against us. However LifeLog will act in accordance with our moral guidelines and within the law.
13.3    If anyone brings a claim against us related to your actions, content or information, you will indemnify and hold us harmless from and against all damages, losses, and expenses of any kind (including reasonable legal fees and costs) related to such claim. 
13.4    Although we provide rules for user conduct, we do not control or direct users' actions on LifeLog and are not responsible for the content or information users transmit or share on LifeLog.
13.5    We are not responsible for any offensive, inappropriate, obscene, unlawful or otherwise objectionable content or information you may encounter on LifeLog. We are not responsible for the conduct, whether online or offline, of any LifeLog user.
13.6    We attempt to keep LifeLog bug free and safe, but you use it at your own risk. This includes any attempt at completing Achievements (as previously set out in section 4.4). We are providing LifeLog ‘As Is’ without warrantee.
13.7    Any damages that may be deemed applicable to any LifeLog user or non-user will not exceed £100.

14. Other

14.1    These terms are an agreement between you and LifeLog Social Media Ltd. References to “us,” “we,” and “our” mean LifeLog Social Media Ltd.
14.2    If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the remaining portion will remain in full force and effect.
14.3    If we fail to enforce any of these terms, it will not be considered a waiver.
14.4    Nothing in these terms shall prevent us from obeying UK law.
14.5    We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.
14.6    You will comply with all applicable laws when using or accessing LifeLog.
14.7    In such situations where these terms are translated into other languages the English version will supersede all others.
